Brother Industries Ltd., a Nagoya‑based manufacturer of industrial machine tools, struggled with fragmented Sales (Salesforce) and Manufacturing (SAP) systems that created heavy workloads, long lead times and dependence on individual specialists. Mismatched SBOM/MBOM structures, highly complex product configurations, frequent custom-quote requests and slow approval processes led to specification errors, time-consuming corrections and operational risk.

To address this, Brother implemented Cincom CPQ (go‑live June 2022) to integrate Salesforce and SAP, introduce a rules-based configurator, enable Excel-driven BOM maintenance and add an approval workflow. The result was seamless sales‑to‑manufacturing collaboration, faster and more accurate quotes, easy-to-operate BOM estimates, more frequent master updates and reduced approval and production lead times.
