IBM Launches Expert Community to Develop Industry-wide Best Practices

IBM, a global leader in technology and convenor of the IBM Data Governance Council, faced the challenge of updating and evolving a shared data governance model in an era of rapidly increasing data risks. To supplement infrequent in-person Council conferences and enable continuous collaboration, IBM selected the Chaordix platform to create an online expert community that would support ongoing development of industry-wide best practices.

Using Chaordix, IBM launched a persistent, interactive community built around networks, knowledge and impact that connected representatives from 55 leading companies and more than 3,000 data governance professionals. The Chaordix-powered community ran for over four years, facilitating ongoing discussions, monthly topics, ranking surveys and analytics — turning static materials into a dynamic forum that helped members craft and disseminate best practices and keep organizations abreast of emerging governance issues.
