ECH, a leading provider of independent living and aged care services in South Australia, faced a significant challenge with its time-intensive and inconsistent process for creating tailored client care plans. Their care partners spent up to 60 minutes per client on manual compilation, leading to incomplete information and reduced time for client-facing care. CGI delivered a proof-of-concept for a generative AI solution built on AWS to address this administrative burden.

CGI developed a GenAI-powered system using AWS Bedrock and Claude Sonnet that automates care plan generation from audio and document assessments in just 36 seconds. This solution dramatically improved efficiency, saving over 3,000 hours annually, and increased accuracy from 35.3% to 92.5%. The project, which is projected to save over $138,000 per year, allowed ECH to proceed with a full production implementation, empowering staff to focus more on person-centered care.
