A CGI Case Study
Airbus, a global aerospace corporation, faced the challenge of managing its extensive real estate portfolio, which was governed by a large volume of unstructured lease contracts in PDF format. Relying on manual reading and data entry into spreadsheets was time-consuming, taking an average of three hours per contract, and led to scattered information and difficulties with data consolidation. To industrialize and improve the reliability of its contractual data usage, Airbus partnered with vendor CGI.
CGI developed an operational AI solution deployed on Google Cloud to automate data extraction. The solution used optical character recognition (OCR) and a defined semantic framework to identify, process, and structure contractual information, integrating a human supervision mechanism for validation. This approach reduced the average contract processing time by 75%, from three hours to 45 minutes, and extracted four times more structured information per contract. The solution provided Airbus with a unified semantic foundation for its real estate data, enabling more effective management and decision-making.
