A Cendyn Case Study
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, a 1,100-room drive-to destination in the Great Smoky Mountains, faced chronic overcapacity — in 2007 the property was running at 101% occupancy and denying nearly 10,000 room requests per month — and needed reliable financial forecasting to justify a costly expansion that would fund tribal services. To address this, the resort turned to Cendyn, using guestrev® demand-forecasting and revenue-management capabilities alongside its existing revenue-management data to evaluate expansion scenarios and forecast guest value.
Cendyn’s guestrev® solution modeled unconstrained demand, tracked sold and denied rooms, and forecasted total revenue across profit centers to size a $650 million expansion that included a 532-room tower. As a result Harrah’s Cherokee now averages about 95% occupancy, realized roughly a 45% increase in internal revenue, and logged nearly double-digit RevPAR growth over its expansion decade — outcomes the team directly credits to Cendyn’s forecasting and revenue-management tools.
