A Catchoom Case Study

KLM Airlines Make Their Delft Blue Houses Scannable

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines wanted to modernize its long-running Delft Blue Houses tradition and make it easier for passengers to identify, collect, and learn about the miniature houses that have been part of the airline’s brand since the 1950s. To support this loyalty experience, KLM worked with Catchoom and its on-device image recognition technology to create a mobile app for collecting and managing the houses.

Catchoom implemented an on-device image recognition solution inside the KLM House app, allowing users to scan a house with their phone camera and match it in under a second, even without internet connectivity. The app now supports 14,000 unique users per month and 18,000 scans per month, helping KLM deliver a low-maintenance, high-value digital experience for collectors.
