A Capita Case Study
The Metropolitan Police faced the challenge of locating individuals suspected of breaching their release conditions while still managing active cases and frontline duties. Working with Capita and its electronic monitoring services (EMS), the force used GPS tagging data to help identify offenders more quickly and accurately.
Capita implemented a co-located communications approach that linked EMS-trained colleagues directly with the Met Control Room and officers on the ground. In a four-night operation, Capita’s tracking technology helped locate 34 suspected breach offenders, leading to 28 arrests and six cases closed without arrest, freeing police time and helping prevent further crime.
