Sedgemoor District Council’s housing ALMO, Homes in Sedgemoor, was struggling to deliver good enough customer service and operational efficiency for its 4,200 homes. Following an initial “no star” inspection, the organisation needed better tenant data, stronger service delivery, and a faster way to understand residents’ needs. Capita One was brought in as a key partner to help drive improvement, using its Capita Housing software solution.

After a rigorous procurement process, Capita One implemented Capita Housing, a single database and “one-stop shop” for rents, repairs, customer information, and service enquiries. The system was delivered in just six months and made the organisation more efficient by allowing staff to access and update shared information once. As a result, Homes in Sedgemoor improved from a “no star” rating to one star with “excellent prospects for further improvement” in its 2010 inspection, reflecting the measurable impact of the Capita One partnership.
