mhs homes, a housing provider managing 8,000 homes in the Medway area of Kent, needed to improve its repairs appointment booking and mobile workforce management processes. Its existing systems were too slow and inefficient, making it difficult to give customers quick answers about repair status or available appointment times. Capita One provided the technology used to address these challenges, including OPENContractor OPENMobile and Opti-Time dynamic scheduling.
Capita One implemented an integrated solution that automated works ticketing, job costing, stock management and mobile communications with field operatives via PDAs. This enabled instant appointment booking, better access to job details, improved safety information for operatives, and reduced paperwork. The impact was significant: mhs homes cut manual administration, moved two staff into other roles, and improved planning so four appointment planners now do the work of six, while also speeding up customer service and improving productivity.
