Totton College worked with Capita One to replace an outdated electronic document management (EDM) system that was no longer flexible enough for a fast-moving education environment. The college needed a better way to manage student records, support admissions and enrolment, and integrate document handling with its UNIT-e student tracking and back-office systems.

Capita One implemented an integrated EDM solution that the college installed itself over a single weekend, migrating 54,000 historical documents with no interruption to service. The new system saved hundreds of hours of photocopying and filing, eliminated a full day from the start-of-year enrolment process, enabled immediate access to student information across sites, and improved security, audit compliance, and control over document lifecycles.
