Leicester City Council, working with Capita One and its OPENHousing solution, needed to improve efficiency across a decentralised housing service spread over 14 neighbourhood offices. Its key challenges were reducing re-let and void turnaround times, handling enquiries more effectively, and meeting government efficiency and equality standards without compromising service quality.
Capita One implemented estate management and workflow functionality within OPENHousing, after detailed process mapping and user consultation across the 14 sites. The system automated key lettings and customer service processes, reduced average re-let times from 49 days to 23 days, and helped generate over £300,000 in additional rental income per year, while also logging 19,475 pieces of work and improving service quality.
