Conwy County Borough Council makes significant savings through implementing Capita Mobile

Conwy County Borough Council, working with Capita One, needed a better way to manage Council Tax, Business Rates and housing benefit inspections. Before introducing Capita Mobile for the Capita Revenues and Benefits system, visiting officers relied on paper forms, manual data entry, and scanning/indexing, which made the process slow and resource intensive.

Capita One implemented Capita Mobile, which allowed visit details to be downloaded to tablet PCs and updated back into the system from the field, with integrated route planning via Microsoft MapPoint. The council eliminated printing, scanning and duplicate processing, increased visits from 20–25 to 30–35 per day, and saved around 120 staff days per year, while also reducing paper use and enabling officers to take on additional work such as tracing absconded debtors.
