Capita payment solutions Injecting new life into payments at States of Guernsey Health & Social Services Department

Guernsey Health & Social Services Department needed a more efficient and secure way to process growing volumes of payments across hospital, social care, and community services. Using Capita One’s existing cash receipting and debtors systems, the department wanted to extend card payment capability beyond a small number of stand-alone terminals and reduce the manual effort, double keying, and paper-based reporting involved in its old process.

Capita One implemented its browser-based Capita Payment Management solution, including Paye.net, integrated Chip & PIN devices, Secure Bureau Service, and Income Management. The new setup enabled invoicing and card payment in a single step, improved reporting and email distribution of management information, cut printing and terminal rental costs, reduced security overheads, and increased front-office productivity; around 30 staff were expected to take card payments initially, with further expansion planned.
