Case Study: Breckland District Council achieves lower costs and better service delivery with Capita One

A Capita One Case Study

Preview of the Breckland District Council Case Study

Anglia Revenues and Benefits Partnership creates a unique venture

Breckland District Council, working with neighboring Forest Heath District Council, needed to reduce the cost and improve the performance of its revenues and benefits services. Using Capita One’s revenues and benefits software, including Council Tax, Benefits, Income Management and Counter Receipting modules, Breckland also sought to modernize its IT environment and support a possible shared-service partnership.

Capita One helped the councils create the Anglia Revenues and Benefits Partnership by migrating Forest Heath from an old ICL mainframe to Capita’s Windows-based system, installing a new UNIX server at Breckland, and providing project management, consultancy, training and helpdesk support. The partnership went live in August 2003 and delivered a six percent saving on running costs, a huge reduction in annual maintenance costs for Forest Heath, housing benefit claims processed ten days faster on average, and improved Council Tax collection rates in both authorities.
