Vodafone Netherlands sought to launch its first end-to-end Managed Service for BlackBerry for the business market. The mobile operator faced the challenge of defining the new product's proposition, pricing, and target segments, as well as determining whether to build the service in-house or with a strategic partner. They engaged their long-standing partner, Capgemini, to help address these challenges.
Capgemini Consulting worked with Vodafone to finalize the business model and run a selection process for a strategic partner. The joint team defined the service, selected a partner, and prepared the market launch. As a result, Vodafone Netherlands successfully launched the Managed Service for BlackBerry, providing business customers with a single point of contact, predictable costs, and high availability. This new offering safeguarded margins in a commoditizing market and is the first in a planned range of managed services.
