Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water transforms its financial planning using SAP

Welsh Water (Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water) needed to transform its operational and capital expenditure budgeting and forecasting, replacing offline spreadsheets with a more accurate and efficient planning process. Working with Capgemini, the utilities provider adopted SAP BPC 10.1 Embedded Model on SAP BW on HANA to improve financial planning, reporting, and decision-making across a not-for-profit business serving over three million people.

Capgemini designed and deployed the new SAP-based solution, including planning models, input templates, reports, and automated calculations, with phased delivery to match business priorities. The result was a simpler, more effective process with greater spend visibility, reduced spreadsheet risk, improved accuracy and user confidence, and better ownership of plans; the project was delivered on time and to budget, and Capgemini helped ensure a successful rollout despite a tight timeline.
