Vodafone faced a fragmented, costly legacy landscape in its OTELO and branded reseller businesses—multiple monoliths with no effective API layer, hidden processes and slow time-to-market that harmed customer experience and partner channels. To modernize without disrupting operations, Vodafone engaged Camunda, using the Camunda product stack (including Camunda BPM and Camunda Modeler) to discover, document and orchestrate processes as it moved to a cloud-native AWS infrastructure.
Camunda helped Vodafone build an intelligent proxy to capture events, reverse-engineer and visualize workflows, and then orchestrate end-to-end customer journeys with BPMN-based step-by-step migration. The approach delivered a minimum viable product in 3 months and a first go-live in 5 months, automated the complete customer lifecycle, enabled continuous improvement and DevOps, and improved machine-to-machine response times by 40%, while significantly increasing transparency, scalability and speed-to-market.
