A Camunda Case Study
T‑Mobile, one of Austria’s largest telecommunications providers serving about 7.5 million customers, faced intense market pressure to deliver new products quickly while integrating more than 40 back-end systems and coordinating 100+ developers under strict SLAs. To address this complexity and improve agility, T‑Mobile deployed Camunda (Camunda BPM) as a workflow layer to document, orchestrate and automate processes across IT and business teams.
Camunda implemented BPMN-based workflows and Java/REST integrations, running nearly 200 process definitions and ~100,000 process instances per day to power services like the 2018 prepaid top-up launch. Camunda also built a database partitioning feature with T‑Mobile to speed data access, enabling faster scaling, simpler troubleshooting via Camunda Cockpit, and helping T‑Mobile bring new products to market 4x faster.
