How two nonprofit founders are supporting women in tech and local businesses

Hundred for Hospitality, co-founded by Jane Ko of A Taste of Koko in Austin, Texas, is a grassroots relief effort formed to support hospitality workers sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic. Its mission was to provide 100 meals per day to temporarily jobless service workers while directing 100% of proceeds to small local restaurants to cover food and staffing costs.

After a crowdsourced campaign that exceeded its goal by 203%, the team partnered with local restaurants and Mylk Collective to organize daily meal production and distribution. Using Calendly to coordinate pickups among 800 laid-off workers and 20 restaurants, they delivered over 4,000 meals across 40 days, raised more than $15,000, and replicated the program in Houston with potential to expand further.
