Dartmouth advisors simplify appointment scheduling to successfully serve over 4,400 students

Dartmouth’s Undergraduate Dean’s Office needed a better way to schedule advising appointments for more than 4,400 students after budget cuts eliminated front desk support. With just eleven advisors handling hundreds of students each, the team struggled to coordinate meetings efficiently and risked missing students who needed guidance.

Using Calendly, Dartmouth gave each advisor a personal scheduling link, added those links to email signatures and school communications, and set up a round robin system for general inquiries. The result was faster, self-service scheduling, with over 90% of student meetings booked through Calendly, more than two-thirds of the freshman class met with advisors, and a stronger ability to serve students despite staff reductions.
