The University and World-Class Medical Center was operating on a 30-year-old PBX that was no longer supported, costly to maintain, and unable to scale or deliver modern features. To modernize communications for both the sprawling academic campus and its world-class medical center, the customer turned to BroadSoft and its BroadWorks private cloud communication platform.

BroadSoft deployed the BroadWorks software suite (with UC-One soft clients and supported IP hardware), partitioning services for different constituencies and reusing existing network assets to avoid a rip-and-replace. A staged 10-month migration moved 26,000 users with minimal disruption, delivering centralized administration, stronger security, new unified communications features and scalability for future growth. BroadSoft’s solution reduced operational expenses by an estimated $1 million annually.
