BlackPoint IT Tracks Customer Profitability with BrightGauge

BlackPoint IT, led by Network Operations Manager Andrew Hutchison, manages a large and growing client fleet (about 4,000 systems, 200+ appliances and 800 backups) and needed a way to consolidate patch, backup and financial data to track missing patches and customer profitability. After evaluating options, BlackPoint IT adopted BrightGauge to integrate data from ConnectWise Manage, Datto, QuickBooks and SQL/LabTech sources into a single reporting platform.

Using BrightGauge, BlackPoint IT built customizable dashboards (for example the “MBC Backup Issues” gauge) and automated SQL checks that run every 24 hours to surface backup failures and patch issues. BrightGauge’s consolidated reports improved warranty and Technical Business Review reporting, cut down on patch problems, boosted customer satisfaction and retention, and gave the team visibility to identify non‑profitable customers.
