Case Study: AFS Intercultural Programs achieves global digital learning transformation with Bridge LMS

A Bridge Case Study

Preview of the AFS Case Study

Global non-profit AFS Intercultural Programs used Bridge LMS to establish a reputation as a provider of digital learning on an international scale

AFS Intercultural Programs, a global non-profit founded in 1915 with 1,300+ employees and learners in 100+ countries, set out to reposition itself from a bilateral exchange organization to an international education provider. To do that it needed a modern learning platform that could improve training for employees and volunteers, meet accessibility and regulatory standards its old LMS lacked (ADA/WCAG), and convince internal stakeholders of the value of virtual and blended learning.

AFS adopted Bridge LMS in 2017 and leveraged its multilingual support, analytics, video, and mobile features to deliver blended and asynchronous curricula for staff, volunteers, and exchange students. The platform accelerated employee growth, enabled rapid enrollment of nearly 6,000 students during global lockdowns, and helped AFS earn external recognition as a serious digital education provider (PIEoneer finalist in 2020 and 2022).
