When Employee Development Becomes a Mindset

Chemical Bank, a Detroit-based regional bank and division of TCF National Bank, needed to move beyond a compliance-focused LMS after an acquisition and redesign employee development into a strategic, scalable leadership program. Talent and Organizational Development wanted a tool that would build leadership behaviors across roles, strengthen manager–employee connections, and replace paper-based processes with trackable, repeatable development practices.

Using Bridge (branded as ChemU) the bank created a one-stop learning hub with live trainings, 1:1 agendas, coaching tools and Bridge Studio for rich media and accessibility. The initiative drove strong engagement and measurable impact: course completion rates above 80–93%, 100% live training completion, consolidated 38+ resources, 854 video views with high positive feedback, and a dramatic drop in turnover—from 37% under the legacy program to 23.9% during transition and 3.28% YTD after the new program.
