Upday Reactivates 528K Lapsed Users With Push Notifications

Upday, Europe’s independent free news app with 25+ million monthly users, needed to re-engage lapsed readers after expanding to iOS. To bring inactive users back to the app, Upday partnered with Braze and chose push notifications via the Braze platform as their primary re-acquisition channel.

Using Braze, Upday ran a four-month campaign targeting users who hadn’t opened the app in 30 days and analyzed results with Braze’s Funnel Reports against a control group. The Braze-driven push program reactivated 528,000 users, increased engagement among targeted users by 4.9%, and gave Upday’s marketing team faster, autonomous access to campaign analytics.
