Sweetgreen Adds 10K New SMS Subscribers With Braze-Powered Promo Code Campaign

Sweetgreen, a fast-casual chain with 100 restaurants, wanted to drive delivery orders through its own app instead of third-party services and grow its SMS marketing channel. To do this, Sweetgreen partnered with Braze and used Braze SMS along with the platform’s native Promotion Codes feature to reach customers with timely incentives.

Braze enabled Sweetgreen to quickly deliver unique, dynamically inserted promo codes via SMS (uploading codes by CSV and sending welcome messages plus $2-off prompts to nonresponders). The Braze-powered campaign added 10K+ new SMS subscribers, delivered a 10% conversion rate, and shortened campaign launch time—helping Sweetgreen capture more app orders and improve campaign speed to optimization.
