Burger King needed to boost mobile app usage and deepen customer engagement in a crowded QSR market. To do this they partnered with Braze, using Braze’s customer engagement platform—including cross-channel messaging, in-app messaging, push notifications, A/B testing, and lifecycle messaging—to drive opt-ins and location-enabled experiences for app users.
Braze powered the “Whopper Detour” campaign—geofencing competitor locations and using in-app prompts and push notifications to drive installs and permissions—while A/B testing and lifecycle messaging optimized opt-in and activation flows. The results were dramatic: 3.2 million new app users, a 53.7% increase in monthly active users, a 143% jump in users sharing location data, and an overall campaign ROI of 37:1, all enabled by Braze.
