GrubHub, which connects diners with more than 300,000 restaurants, wanted to engage its 30 million diners with a personalized year‑end summary to drive brand awareness and usage. To execute the campaign, GrubHub partnered with Braze and used Braze Content Blocks, Liquid personalization, and the Braze API to integrate and automate individualized content.
Braze helped GrubHub ingest 32 custom attributes from its data warehouse and build fully dynamic emails (from color and images to order history) that were easy to test and scale. The personalized “Taste of 2020” emails drove a 100% increase in social media mentions and an 18% lift in word‑of‑mouth referrals for GrubHub.
