Etermax, the creator of Trivia Crack (500+ million installs), wanted to boost engagement in its Triviathon single‑player mini‑game. To test whether targeted communications could increase play, Etermax partnered with Braze to run A/B tests using in‑app messages (IAMs), News Feed Cards, deep links and time‑limited higher‑value rewards.
Using Braze, Etermax set up three test groups and found the segment that received higher weekend rewards plus IAMs performed best. The Braze‑powered campaign produced a 50% increase in users playing Triviathon missions, a 35% increase in mission completions, a 22% lift in games during weekdays and an 87% increase in weekend gameplay.
