How Nethodology measured the city of Barcelona’s online reputation with Brandwatch

Nethodology needed to track the reputation of an entire city, Barcelona, by analyzing large volumes of social and news content. Using Brandwatch’s social listening capabilities, the team set out to remove irrelevant content, identify the most viral posts, and measure sentiment as objectively as possible.

Brandwatch supported the project by helping Nethodology gather thousands of news items and Facebook reactions, then build a custom sentiment model to classify mentions. The result was an algorithm that was 84% accurate, giving Nethodology a more reliable way to assess city reputation and community reactions.
