Case Study: Pepperdine University achieves secure, user-friendly BYOD access and rapid threat remediation with Bradford Networks' Network Sentry

A Bradford Networks Case Study

Preview of the Pepperdine University Case Study

Bradford Networks’ Network Sentry Provides a Network Connection as Easy as Starbucks Only Safer

Bradford Networks helped Pepperdine University secure a large, open BYOD campus where students, faculty, staff and thousands of guests expect fast, simple wireless access. Pepperdine needed a non-intrusive way to support any device, detect and remediate infections, manage guests and contractors, and reduce help-desk workload while protecting the university from liability like copyright violations.

Using Network Sentry Secure Enterprise Advanced (SEA) integrated with the university’s Sourcefire IDS, Bradford Networks delivered automated, policy‑based access control, endpoint visibility, guest provisioning and immediate quarantining with self‑service remediation. The deployment enabled fast, secure access for thousands of users, blocked and remediated compromised devices, streamlined guest and device provisioning (including automated VLAN placement for printers), cut troubleshooting calls and helped Pepperdine meet compliance and legal requirements.
