Bradford Networks’ Network Sentry Ensures Secure Network Access at the Medical University of South Carolina

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), a combined hospital, academic and research center with 15,500 students and staff across more than 100 buildings, needed to know who and what was connecting to its network at all times. Unrestricted access risked patient data and regulatory non‑compliance, and the IT team required a scalable, flexible NAC solution that would be unobtrusive to users and support mobile and headless medical devices without disrupting clinical care.

MUSC deployed Bradford Networks’ Network Sentry to automatically identify and register users and devices, assign medical equipment to the correct VLANs, and isolate non‑compliant endpoints while notifying users how to remediate. The solution improved visibility, reduced manual intervention (tasks that once required six staff can now be done by two), and helped MUSC meet HIPAA, JCAHO and PCI compliance requirements.
