Case Study: Finsbury Food Group achieves consolidated, scalable and secure cloud payments with Bottomline's PTX

A Bottomline Case Study

Preview of the Finsbury Food Group Case Study

Protecting Payments Across the Business with Cloud-Based Solution

Finsbury Food Group, a UK bakery manufacturer with nine businesses including Lightbody and Memory Lane Cakes, faced fragmented legacy payment systems across its subsidiaries that were costly, hard to support and at risk for business continuity. With differing ERP platforms, growing payment volumes and a requirement for stronger security and minimal manual input, the IT team set out to consolidate to a single, scalable solution that could import diverse payment files and enforce tighter access controls.

They implemented Bottomline’s cloud-based PTX Payments and Business Solution Suite, onboarding three sites within a month and configuring role-based access, protected file locations and automated uploads from ERP systems. The PTX Security Pack now validates first-time payments, detects duplicates and screens blacklists; approvals are completed via Smart Card for Bacs submissions. The rollout has run faultlessly, allowed staged growth (transaction limit raised to 10,000/month), improved fraud protection and delivered a more manageable, scalable group-wide payment process.
