A Bottomline Case Study
Madison Memorial Hospital, a 69-bed, county-owned non-profit in Idaho, faced long admissions delays and frustrated patients and staff because new patients filled and signed 6–8 pages of paper forms across multiple locations. The slow, error-prone paper process was hurting patient experience and HCAHPS scores, which in turn risked federal reimbursement tied to satisfaction metrics.
Madison implemented Bottomline Technologies’ electronic data capture and eSignature solution (powered by Logical Ink), integrating with MEDITECH and Cerner to provide HIPAA-compliant admitting booths, mobile workstations, barcode wristbands and bedside signing. Rolled out facility-wide for 115 forms, the solution cut admission times by 50%, reduced paper use by 67%, increased staff productivity by 25%, and raised HCAHPS from 62% to 82% (about a 33% improvement), improving both efficiency and patient satisfaction.
