Global Processing Services (GPS) is a global card processor focused on the prepaid market, moving millions of pounds daily to hundreds of accounts. GPS faced cumbersome, manual internet-banking processes—daily Direct Debit files had to be re-keyed, causing reference errors, one- to two-day delays and extra float funding—while a bank-provided online system promised lengthy implementation timelines.
GPS implemented Bottomline Technologies’ PTX payments platform, which quickly integrated with GPS’s file formats, automated Direct Debit and Bacs processing, and provided a web-driven, scalable interface. The result was faster, more reliable transfers with clearer reporting, a one- to two-day reduction in payment turnaround, freed-up staff, and an estimated £150,000 saved in float, with plans to expand payment types further.
