Levels Beyond is a 70-person company that builds Reach Engine for media, advertising, and sports customers. Although most staff work together in an open-plan Denver office, a few remote employees left the team feeling disconnected, and the company was dissatisfied with its previous gamified recognition system.

In July 2017 Levels Beyond adopted Bonusly — giving each employee a monthly allowance of 50 "tacos" (~$5) to recognize peers, with deep Slack integration and analytics. Within a year the program drove measurable engagement: 9 out of 10 employees receive at least one bonus monthly, over 50% of bonuses are given via Slack, and the team logged 3,835 unique bonuses (34,433 tacos), while managers gained visibility into contributions, cross-team recognition increased, interns felt included, and company culture became more connected and appreciative.
