Oracle’s EPM team at Oracle—a 78-person software development group spread across Stamford, Burlington, San Jose and Bangalore—needed a way to boost morale, motivation and timely recognition. The VP of Product Development wanted a low-friction social recognition program to reward outstanding contributions faster than an annual bonus cycle and to foster more positive communication across distributed teams.
The team deployed Bonusly in under an hour (launched Nov 2012), granting each employee a recurring 100-point monthly allowance and enabling automated quarterly/annual accolades. Adoption was rapid: within eight weeks 78% of users had given at least one bonus and 94% had received one; 391 bonuses were given overall, with an average of 3.1 bonuses per user per month—driving stronger peer recognition, higher morale and more positive team communication.
