Kaleidoscope is a creative, strategy-driven design firm with 65+ employees in its Chicago office that wanted to strengthen collaboration, frequent recognition, and cross-department communication as part of its annual performance management process. Culture & Talent Manager Colleen Vos, with full executive support, introduced Bonusly in October 2013 to make peer recognition a regular, company-wide habit.

The solution gave each employee a $50 monthly allowance for microbonuses and added a monthly HERO Sandwich award ($150 + an extra day off). Rollout was quick and highly adopted: in the first two months Bonusly facilitated nearly $6,000 in microbonuses, 719 bonuses were given, 97% of employees gave bonuses, and 100% received them (avg bonus ~9 points, 4.6 gives/month). The program boosted morale and collaboration and is being considered for expansion to other offices.
