CB Insights is a New York–based analytics firm that intentionally built a culture around four core values—the “4 H’s” (Helpful, Hungry, Happy, Humble)—and faced the challenge of keeping those values top of mind as the company scaled. Leadership wanted a lightweight, consistent way to recognize day‑to‑day behaviors and reinforce culture across recruiting, onboarding and everyday work.
They implemented Bonusly for peer-to-peer recognition, with monthly allowances, chat integrations, automated anniversary/birthday bots, and analytics. Since launching in June 2015 CBI has given 12,739 bonuses, grown from ~33 to 200+ employees while maintaining an average of three bonuses per employee per month, and enabled donations to nonprofits; leaders report higher morale, steady participation, and easy program management.
