A Bonusly Case Study
Kadence International’s Boston office (13 employees of a ~300-person global agency) wanted to boost productivity, teamwork and peer recognition with a simple, decentralized solution. Associate Director Wes Patterson championed a pilot of Bonusly—easy to set up and free for small teams—to add a peer-to-peer component to compensation and encourage positive feedback.
Kadence gave each employee a $100 monthly allowance for microbonuses, paid out quarterly, and adoption was immediate. The program generated 518 bonuses (100% of users giving and receiving, $9.10 average bonus, 8.3 average gives/month) and an internal audit found 50% of employees felt more productive and 58% were more likely to help colleagues. Bonusly also clarified who collaborates with whom, uncovered a slight gender recognition bias used to improve team diversity, and earned strong endorsement from leadership.
