Leeds City Council, the third-largest city in the UK, needed to modernize its IT to support core services—from housing and education to waste management—while improving efficiency and cutting costs. The council’s challenge was to transform IT processes and software quickly and economically and align operations with ITIL best practices.
BMC Remedy OnDemand provided Remedy ITSM as a secure, maintenance‑free SaaS cloud solution, enabling ITIL alignment without large capital outlays or long implementation cycles. The cloud deployment cut licensing, infrastructure and staff costs, allowed server decommissioning, saved at least ten minutes per service request, improved reporting to resolve recurring issues proactively, and helped define the council’s broader cloud strategy.
