News UK, publisher of The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun, needed to ensure high performance and reliability of the IT systems that support content production and distribution for some 11 million daily readers and ~5,000 employees. The Enterprise Technology group set out to transform asset management and create a service-asset strategy to support tier‑1 services, improve troubleshooting, impact analysis and change planning.

Working with partner KTSL, News UK deployed BMC Discovery, Discovery for Storage, Atrium CMDB and TexWurx uControl to provide fast, accurate asset discovery and configuration data. The solution cut mean time to resolution, improved change success rates and reduced change‑related incidents, gave real‑time storage-to-service visibility, and enabled the team to scale throughput and users while maintaining reliability without adding staff.
