Preview of the HUK-COBURG Case Study

HUK-COBURG (Germany) delivers new insurance services to 10MM customers with optimal developer self-service and automation

HUK-COBURG, one of Germany’s largest insurers with more than 10 million customers, struggled with an overloaded DBA team supporting a complex IBM z/OS DB2 environment and more than 200 developers. The company needed to increase DBA productivity and accelerate time-to-market for new insurance services while handling constant requests for DB2 object information.

BMC Catalog Manager for DB2, BMC Change Manager for DB2, and BMC Log Master for DB2 automated routine DB2 administration and gave developers self‑service access to the information they need. The result: five DBAs now manage the environment efficiently, developers can compare and audit object changes or undo bad transactions, DB2 availability and delivery speed improved, and developer satisfaction and service delivery increased.
