Case Study: Bank of Communications achieves shorter batch windows and automated workload management with BMC Software

A BMC Software Case Study

Preview of the Bank of Communications Case Study

Bank of Communications, a top-5 Chinese commercial bank, delivers sophisticated financial services at massive scale

Bank of Communications, a top‑five Chinese commercial bank with 2,800+ domestic branches and global operations, runs more than 15,000 daily batch jobs across 100+ heterogeneous systems (IBM z/OS, UNIX, Windows). To meet rising customer demand for increasingly sophisticated financial services, IT needed to standardize, centralize and automate enterprise scheduling to ensure on‑time completion and reduce errors and delays.

By deploying BMC Control‑M Workload Automation and BMC Batch Impact Manager, the bank automated scheduling across physical, virtual and cloud environments and aligned workloads with business priorities. The solution provided single‑point management, real‑time coordination and automatic job triggering, which shortened batch windows, cut errors and operational delays, reduced staffing to four operators per shift, and delivered clearer insight into the business impact of job failures.
