UK Bank’s Bounce Back Loan Process Rated the Best with Help from Digital Workforce

UK Bank, a long-established lender, urgently needed to implement the UK government’s COVID-19 “bounce-back” loan scheme in days to meet tight Financial Conduct Authority turnaround targets and massive expected demand. Unable to recruit and train hundreds of extra staff during lockdown, the bank turned to SS&C Blue Prism and its intelligent automation capabilities, notably SS&C Blue Prism’s intelligent digital workers.

SS&C Blue Prism worked with the bank’s teams and RPA Center of Excellence to deploy an automated end-to-end loan process in ten days—routing online applications through fraud checks, validating requests, creating customer profiles and opening loan accounts. The SS&C Blue Prism solution approved some 30,000 loans in the first weekend and helped the bank deliver about £9.5 billion in lending and roughly 340,000 loans overall, meeting rapid turnaround targets without large-scale hiring.
