Sysco Maintains Team Excellence While Rapidly Scaling a Digital Workforce

Sysco, the world’s largest broadline food distributor, faced sudden operational strain when COVID-19 disrupted its complex distribution network. With a small automation team already in place, Sysco needed to rapidly scale automation without sacrificing its commitment to operational excellence and turned to SS&C Blue Prism’s digital workforce (Blue Prism running on AWS) to meet that challenge.

SS&C Blue Prism helped Sysco deploy Blue Prism in the AWS cloud to spin up and scale digital workers, and integrated AI/ML tools like AWS Textract for OCR to automate order processing (notably the “Jackpot” digital worker). The implementation grew to 60 digital workers executing 150+ processes, processing 6.2 million transactions and returning more than 250,000 work hours to the business—all while maintaining operational excellence.
