Monmouthshire Building Society, a UK mutual lender with more than 150 years of history, faced a surge in mortgage applications—especially from third‑party brokers—creating a manual processing bottleneck that could take 20–30 minutes per application. To modernize its operating model and improve response times and digital service, the Society turned to SS&C Blue Prism and deployed Blue Prism Cloud to automate the intake and validation of new mortgage applications.
SS&C Blue Prism implemented a digital worker that proactively downloads applications, extracts and validates key data, fills missing fields, and either assigns the case or notifies an adviser. The automation removed manual document downloads, completed the end‑to‑end process solely by the digital worker, and now processes an average of 267 applications per month—returning about 90 hours per month to the business—while improving scalability, straight‑through processing, and timely updates for brokers and customers.
