Case Study: Mercy Radiology achieves automated online bookings and 90% hands-free confirmations with SS&C Blue Prism

A SS&C Blue Prism Case Study

Preview of the Mercy Radiology Case Study

Mercy Radiology Books an Appointment with a Digital Worker Called Rob-E

Mercy Radiology, a New Zealand radiology provider operating 13 locations, faced a time‑consuming manual process: although referrers and patients could request appointments online, staff had to check availability, reconcile complex service/location timings, and enter bookings into the Radiology Information System (RIS). To address this, Mercy engaged SS&C Blue Prism and its intelligent digital worker (named Rob‑E) to streamline appointment processing.

SS&C Blue Prism implemented Rob‑E to pull online requests, determine available services and times across locations, pre‑populate returning patient details and enter confirmed bookings into the RIS while notifying staff. As a result, Rob‑E now handles about 220–280 bookings per week with 90% of appointments confirmed without human intervention, significantly reducing administrative workload and allowing Mercy Radiology staff to spend more time with patients.
