Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Trust, which serves 2.5 million patients and employs 23,500 staff, faced mounting pressure to meet the national 18‑week referral target and ensure clean patient data ahead of its Epic EHR rollout. Large, manually maintained outpatient waiting lists (often over 100,000 entries) meant errors and duplicate entries were common, creating extra work for staff and risking poor-quality data being imported into Epic. To address this, GSTT partnered with E18 to deploy SS&C Blue Prism digital workers.

E18 implemented a team of SS&C Blue Prism digital workers that consume daily validation reports, automatically correct waiting list errors and remove duplicates, and escalate only exceptions for manual review. In six months the SS&C Blue Prism digital workers eliminated over 32,000 errors, cut duplicate entries by 54% and returned 650 staff hours for patient care, ensuring higher-quality data will flow into Epic.
