A SS&C Blue Prism Case Study
Northrop Grumman faced high-pressure pulsations on its X-47B iron bird test rig originating from an engine-driven pump, threatening downstream components and schedule milestones. SS&C Blue Prism worked with Northrop Grumman, using a Hydraulic System Frequency Resonance program to diagnose the source and characterize the system’s resonance behavior.
SS&C Blue Prism engineers analyzed test-rig data with the resonance program, specified and helped place an attenuator to add compliance and absorb flow peaks, and tuned the system to avoid destructive resonant pump speeds. The solution reduced pressure pulsations on the iron bird, increased confidence in operational readiness, and supported Northrop Grumman’s milestone schedule leading up to the X-47B’s first flight.
